Little Things, Lately. January

I have always loved the small stuff. The kinds of things that quietly shape your days and somehow end up shaping your life too. So this is a new little ritual. Once a month, a few things I have been loving, noticing, sipping, or mildly obsessing over. Nothing earth-shattering. Just the good stuff that makes ordinary days feel better than they have any right to.

The “Going Analog” trend

I keep seeing this everywhere, and honestly, I am into it. Film cameras. Paper planners. Handwritten notes. People willingly choosing slower, messier, more tangible things in a world that is usually screaming for speed. There is something deeply comforting about it. You feel it when you shoot film. You cannot rush it. You have to trust yourself and the moment, which is both beautiful and mildly terrifying in the best way.

My go-to at-home coffee

Every morning starts the same way over here. A brown sugar shaken iced latte that feels like a tiny luxury before real life shows up. Yes, I said iced. Yes, it’s January. Mind your business. (I kid, I kid)

A little brown sugar. Your heart decides how much.
Two shots of espresso.
Milk of choice.
A glass full of ice.
Shake it until it looks like you know what you are doing.
Add a dash of cinnamon if you are feeling unpredictable.

We bought our espresso machine back in 2020 and it is still one of the best decisions we have ever made. It turned our kitchen into our favorite café and saved us a small fortune in lattes that probably did not need to be twelve dollars.

Beckett’s Mystic Dove Non Alcoholic Paloma

I have been really loving the shift away from alcohol lately. I love a prosecco moment, do not get me wrong, but I love the choice not to even more. There is something quietly inclusive about having great non-alcoholic options that feel just as special as the real thing. The Mystic Dove Paloma has that bright, citrusy bite that makes it feel like a proper cocktail without any of the why did I do that tomorrow. I honestly hope this trend shows up more at weddings this year.

My new Bose Ultra Open earbuds

Normal earbuds have never really worked for me. I think I just have small ears, or picky ears, or both. Over-the-ear headphones end up hurting after a while, so these have been a revelation. They sit just outside your ears, which means you can still hear the world while editing, walking Nova, or pretending to be productive. I have always been an Apple girl, but I guess everything is negotiable in 2026.

That is January. A handful of small, lovely things, quietly making life feel a little softer.

More next month.
