They say photographs stop time. What they don’t tell you is that sometimes, a wedding photographer does too.
A wedding day moves quickly. Quicker than most people expect. There are timelines and cues and well-meaning people checking their watches, gently moving things along. It’s exciting and emotional and, occasionally, a little overwhelming.
Sneaking away together on a wedding day is rarely just about the photos.
Most of the time, it’s the only stretch of the day where nothing is being asked of you. The noise fades. The questions stop. You’re standing together without an audience, finally able to take it in.
This part of the day isn’t about posing or performing. It’s about giving yourselves a minute. A pause in the middle of everything else that’s happening.
I guide when it’s helpful and step back when it’s not. My role here isn’t to fill the space, but to hold it. To let the moment breathe while the day keeps moving around you.
The photographs will show what it looked like.
What matters is how it felt.
