Ashley and Sam’s Fall Wedding in Indianapolis
Ashley and Sam’s fall wedding in downtown Indianapolis was absolutely beautiful. This wedding was a recipe for a dream Alison Mae couple. A madly in love couple? Yes! Adorable dogs? Absolutely! Stunning florals? Of course. An emotional first look that made us all cry? Oh yes. Follow along as I relive the beauty of Ashley and Sam’s magical day!
Sam prepared for his wedding day at the incredible Alexander Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. With a striking wine colored tie and corgi socks to add a meaningful touch, Sam looked fantastic! But his suit was the cherry on top! Leon Tailoring Co. did such an incredible job on Sam’s suit! Check out that pattern!
Ashley got ready for the day at home, which I loved! It was so personal and laid back. Plus I got tons of snuggles from Ashley and Sam’s curious corgi puppy, Morty while I worked on photographing Ashley’s sweet details. Talk about a great way to start your day!
An Emotional First Look
Ashley and Sam decided to do a first look. Now, it’s no secret that I adore first looks. You can read more about that here. But Ashley and Sam are the perfect example of exactly why I love them so much!
We met up at a small park just around the corner from Ashley and Sam’s house. Aside from a random jogger we had the park to ourselves. After getting Ashley into position, we smoothed out her dress and stepped back. She called Sam’s name and as he turned around, the most incredible look of joy covered his face. He was absolutely taken by Ashley’s beauty and it was so cool to see! Following their emotional first look, Ashley and Sam spent some intentional time alone together, which is such a gift during a busy wedding day!
Exploring Indianapolis
During our first conversation, Ashley mentioned that she really wanted to spend her wedding day exploring Indianapolis with Sam and taking photos with their dogs. As a result, my heart was exploding with joy when that exact wish came true! After leaving the park, our next stop was the canal. We spent some time taking family photos before heading out with just Ashley and Sam for a wedding day walk.
I am obsessed with Ashley’s wedding nails, rings and her bouquet! And this photo combines all three!
Our final stop on our Indianapolis wedding tour was Monument Circle. As a wedding photographer in Indianapolis, I can tell you that Monument Circle is a popular place! On any given Saturday, the steps of the historic monument are covered with visitors. But when we arrived at the circle, we were delighted to find that we were just about the only people there! We made the most of it and soaked in the beauty of our surroundings as Ashley and Sam basked in wedding day magic!
If you like these photos at Monument circle, be sure to check out Ashley and Sam’s engagement session here!
An Intimate Ceremony
Ashley and Sam are an incredibly driven couple. So when the events of 2020 decided to throw a wrench in their original wedding plans they came up with a new plan for their wedding day that was absolutely perfect.
Surrounded by some seriously stunning florals by Satin & Stems Ashley and Sam were married on their front porch. It was one of the sweetest ceremonies I have ever witnessed! Ashley and Sam are such an incredible couple. Over the course of planning their wedding, Zach and I have become friends with these two so it was no surprise that I had tears of joy behind my camera as they said their vows.
A Gorgeous in Home Reception
While we didn’t stay for the reception, I still wanted to get some incredible photos of the gorgeous set up that Ashley created! With the help of A Classic Party Rental and Uncommonly Styled, Ashley and Sam’s living room transformed into a stunning reception space! I love the way the gold decor pops against the black table cloths and matte black stoneware!
Ashley and Sam’s closest friends and family shared a dinner made by a private chef before watching Ashley and Sam cut their stunning wedding cake by Classic Cakes.
Ashley and Sam’s day wouldn’t be complete without some love for their sweet pups, Lexi and Morty! They shared the world’s cutest favors with their guests and even enjoyed some snuggle time with the dogs before heading into their reception. How amazing is that?
Congratulations Ashley and Sam! We love you and cannot wait to celebrate your wedding 2.0 with you later this year!
