They met while Maggie was attending Purdue University. It was spring break and one of her sorority sister’s introduced her to her brother, Isaac. And much to Maggie’s surprise, he asked for her number. And even further to Maggie’s surprise I’m sure, they couldn’t go on their first date for a few weeks. Why was that? Because Isaac was headed off to school himself. Where? Maggie’s home state of Colorado.
Maggie and Isaac’s Brainard Lake Engagement Session
The serendipitous connection to Colorado was just the beginning. If you spend any amount of time with Maggie and Isaac, it is so evident that they are meant to be. Their connection is equal parts magnetic and calming. They are both incredibly caring people who spend their days caring for others and their beloved dog, Reba. (Who I hope I’ll get to meet someday) They have many shared passions such as skiing and being outdoors, so capturing their engagement photos in the mountains was a must. But where?
Just a short drive from Boulder, Colorado up a winding steep road that leads you past sun filled meadows and babbling brooks, you’ll find Brainard Lake. Set against the impressive and jagged peaks of the Continental Divide and surrounded by a sub alpine forest, it is truly something special. This Colorado gem was the perfect place to celebrate Maggie and Isaac’s engagement!
With raindrops from a pop up rain shower still clinging to the pine branches, we explored the Brainard Lake area together laughing and soaking in the magnificent views. It was a perfect day. We had the best time with these two and are already counting down the days until their Black Iris Estate wedding!
P.S. On our way out of the parking lot we saw a moose and her baby which was the cherry on top of this wondrous day!
