Shelby and Augie’s Charming Countryside Wedding at White Chateau in Owensboro Kentucky

It started with a proposal in Augie’s backyard. Both sets of parents were present and Augie got down on one knee and asked Shelby to be his wife. Little Perry was standing close by, eager to help his dad put the ring on her finger. Now, just over a year past that day in the backyard, Shelby and Augie are husband and wife. And yes, Perry was just as eager to help this time around too. I’m so excited to share Shelby and Augie’s love story with you. Their White Chateau wedding was beyond beautiful!

Small, sentimental details were woven through out the White Chateau. From beautiful calligraphy by Augie’s sweet sister Mallory to a stunning heirloom cabinet that had survived a house fire – special touches were everywhere. Two blue glass birds wrapped in tissue paper and labeled “blue birds of happiness” acted as Shelby’s “something blue.” They were purchased by Shelby’s grandmother the day she was born! You could tell that Shelby and Augie value family and wanted to include these special touches in their day!

And speaking of family, this wedding was wonderful for a myriad of reasons, but one of my favorites? Perry. Seeing the love that these three share was really special. And when it came time for Perry to see Shelby for the first time in her dress, his smile went ear to ear! To top it off, little Perry was so proud of the fact that he looked just like his dad with a matching suit!

Shelby and Augie opted to share a first look prior to their ceremony, which was incredible! This gave them some time to just slow down and be together before the whirlwind began. These two share a joyful love that is contagious! You can’t help but smile when you are with them! Which is exactly what we did during their bride and groom portraits! We laughed so much, it was amazing!

Finally it was time for their ceremony! As the sun began to set, Shelby walked down the aisle to her groom, illuminated in a golden glow. Her eyes locked to his. Perry comforted both Shelby and Augie when they teared up during the ceremony and even asked for some clarification on words he didn’t know, which made everyone laugh! Finally, Shelby and Augie were pronounced husband and wife!

Following some sunset photos, the sun finally disappeared behind the Kentucky hills and the party continued well into the night. With guests enjoying the perfect late summer weather under the stars, it was the cherry on top to an already perfect day.

Congratulations Shelby and Augie! We love you and are so happy for you!
