A couple of years ago, Zach and I traveled to the state of Washington to photograph a wedding. While we were there, we connected with some incredible couples by the way of photo sessions. Mary Beth and Trent were one of those couples. We adored our time with them during their Rattlesnake Ridge session so when another wedding brought us back the Pacific North West, we knew we needed to visit them! And what made our visit even more special? Mary Beth and Trent are the proud owners of Miller Tree Inn in Forks, Washington!
Mary Beth and Trent are a creative, intentional and kind couple. Which makes owning a bed and breakfast a natural fit for them. But in addition to running the inn, Trent owns a clothing line, Vagabum Trading Co. and Mary Beth is an accomplished author. You can learn more about her book, Summoned, here. While visiting, we were able to purchase a copy and have Mary Beth sign it. This was especially cool considering that as we climbed the mountain for their session two years prior, Mary Beth shared all about her book as she was still in the final stages of writing it. She is the real deal and Summoned is one you don’t want to miss!
Visiting the Inn
Miller Tree Inn is located in the small town of Forks, Washington. While we explored the property, eating fresh blueberries and petting the resident cat, the Inn drew in several Twilight fans for photos. At one point a car drove by slowly and a voice called out “honey, stop the car!” which gave us quite a laugh. This place is an important part of the Twilight fandom and it was fun to see people get so excited to enjoy it!
But in case you aren’t a Twilight fan, don’t worry. Miller Tree Inn is perfectly positioned near Olympic National Park and Ruby Beach. Two places I have personally visited and fell head over heels for! You can start your morning with delicious scrambled eggs made by Mary Beth herself (served by Trent) and then head out for a day of hiking through some of the most beautiful scenery our world has to offer!
