Sara and Nate’s Black Iris Estate wedding is easily one of our all time favorites! With perfect weather, a stylish and easy going couple and one of the most spirited wedding parties of all time, celebrating Sara and Nate was a joy! I am delighted to share their Carmel, Indiana wedding day with you!

Tucked quietly on a beautifully wooded property in the heart of Carmel, Indiana, Black Iris Estate really is an oasis all it’s own. The iconic Indianapolis wedding venue was buzzing with fun energy upon our arrival. Upbeat music came through the windows of the brightly lit bridal suite and greeted us as we entered through the stately wooden door at the front of the estate. It was going to be a good day.

Getting Ready

Sara prepped for the day ahead with help from her wonderful hair and makeup team from DL Lowry. A subtle cat eye and romantic bun created a timeless wedding day look. Sara’s crepe dress was sleek and fashionable, which suited this NYC girl perfectly! With show stopping sleeves and soft material, it was the perfect ethereal touch. Sara’s sweet mom and sisters helped her into her dress before she headed downstairs to meet her groom!

Nate prepared for the day with the help from his closest guys. With a good mix of family and friends from back in NYC, Nate’s groomsmen were happy to help him get ready. Within moments of meeting this wedding party, it was apparent that Sara and Nate have a strong and supportive friend group who love them dearly. Their fun and loving energy could be felt through out the day and it made my heart so happy to see how much they care about Sara and Nate. Needless to say, with this crew we didn’t stop laughing all day long!

A Quiet Moment Alone Together

Sara and Nate chose to see one another prior to their ceremony and shared a first look on the porch at Black Iris Estate. This is always one of our favorite parts of any wedding. It is one of the only times all day where time slows down and the couple can really be present together. This is something we feel is so important because weddings can move so fast. And Sara and Nate’s wedding was no exception! Their first look was so meaningful. And the cherry on top? Their families peaking out the windows to see if they could catch a glimpse! It was so cute! Following their first look, it was time for a few portraits of this fashion forward bride and groom. From Sara’s elegant look to Nate’s timeless tuxedo, these two looked so elegant together!

The Wedding Party

As I mentioned above, Sara and Nate’s wedding party were just a joy! Their support and excitement was so evident all day long. From snapping photos to helping Nate serenade his bride, they uplifted their friends every step of the way and kept the energy up. Can you say dream wedding party? While any one of Nate’s groomsmen could give James Bond a run for his money in their classic black tuxedos, Sara’s bridesmaids looked pretty in pink. What a great looking crew!

The Ceremony

Sara and Nate’s wedding ceremony was in one of the my personal favorite places. Not just at the venue itself (though Black Iris Estate does have so many incredible options) but in the greater Indianapolis area entirely! The Willow Chapel is an ethereal open air chapel that catches everyone’s eye. Breathtaking sunlight falls through the leaves of the trees above, creating a stunning setting for exchanging vows. While Sara and Nate were technically married the evening before at an intimate ceremony at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist, this ceremony was every bit as sentimental and stunning.

The Party

Sara and Nate’s reception was simply divine. With delicious food by Thomas Caterers of Distinction and lively music by The Company Band, Sara and Nate threw one amazing party! They danced the night away, smiling from ear to ear.. just like we like it!

Congratulations Sara and Nate! We are so happy for you two!
