As a wedding photographer, engagement sessions are one of my favorite parts of the wedding process. Cute photos for your save the dates? Fun photos for social media? Deal. But did you know that engagement sessions actually serve you in a lot of other ways when it comes to your wedding day? This is something I am very passionate about so I’m excited to share with you why I think you need an engagement session with your wedding photographer!
Engagement sessions are a great way for us to get to know each other long before your wedding day. This is so helpful because we can take our time, I can give you all my tips and tricks, guide you into poses and really learn what works best for you. Because on wedding days, we just don’t have a ton of extra time so it’s nice to already have worked out any concerns or “what do I do with my hands?” moments. (Spoiler alert, I will always tell you what to do with your hands, haha) Plus, it’s so nice to get to know one another as your wedding photographer will be spending a lot of time with you on your wedding day! In my experience having that connection already established really helps couples relax, which is when I can capture the most natural smiles and emotion. Totally worth it!
