From my first phone call with Rachel I knew instantly that I adored her. We laughed and shared stories as though we’d known one another for years. So when she and Ben arrived at Holliday Park for their engagement session, I felt like I’d already known her forever. And by the end of their picnic engagement session, I felt that way about Ben too. They are both so kind easy going, which made spending an evening with them for their engagement photos a dream!

During that initial phone call, Rachel shared with me that she and Ben love to spend time outdoors. It’s a big part of their relationship and therefore she dreamed of a whimsical picnic engagement session. I instantly knew of the perfect place! Practically hidden in plain sight at Holliday Park, this dreamy tree was the perfect backdrop for a picnic. Add in the magical light that filters through its branches during golden hour? It doesn’t get any better! So when Rachel mentioned this exact same location for their session, I knew it was meant to be, just like Rachel and Ben.

Rachel and Ben grew up in the same small town. But it wasn’t until their high school reunion that things really clicked for these two. In fact, they spent the whole evening talking and inadvertently ignored everyone else there. But once you know Rachel and Ben, you know that they are both so intentional with everything they do. They are so present and in the moment with whomever they are with, so this makes perfect sense. Rachel and Ben hope to be fully present and engaged with their loved ones into their wedding day next year. I look forward to celebrating this incredible couple along side Bridget Davis Events and the Ritz Charles team!
