HOW it WORKS
Every session begins with a short call so we can get to know each other and talk through what you’re envisioning. We’ll also look at possible dates and choose a primary session date along with a rain alternative. At this stage I’ll confirm that Newfields has photography passes available for that evening.

Connection Call
About a week before your session, I’ll send a session plan to help you come fully prepared. This includes helpful guidance so you can arrive feeling confident and ready to enjoy your time in the gardens.

After your session, I’ll carefully edit your images and deliver your final gallery within 30 days.

If you're wondering what to wear for your Newfields session, you're not alone. It’s one of the most common questions couples ask, and a few simple guidelines can make the decision much easier.
Over the years I’ve discovered a handful of favorite spots throughout the gardens. Quiet paths, beautiful light, and little corners that make wonderful backdrops. During your session, I’ll guide you through these places and let the evening unfold naturally along the way.

Q. When do you offer these sessions?
Golden Hour Sessions take place on Thursday evenings, typically beginning around 5:30 or 6:00 pm when the gardens stay open later.
Garden Sessions are offered on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, beginning around 3:00 or 4:00 pm.
All sessions are between April and September.
Q. Do we need to purchase a photography permit?
No. I take care of securing the Newfields photography pass for your session.
Q. Can we take photos inside the museum or the Lilly House?
No. The photography permit covers the outdoor gardens only. The museum, Lilly House, and greenhouse are not included.
Q. Can we take drone photos at Newfields?
No. Drones are not permitted anywhere on the Newfields property.
Q. Can we bring pets?
Unfortunately not. Newfields does not allow pets on the property.
Q. Can we bring friends or family members to the session?
To keep the experience focused and intentional, these sessions are reserved for just the two of you.
Q. What happens if it rains?
We’ll choose a rain backup date when booking your session so we have an alternate evening reserved if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
Q. How far in advance should we book?
About one month in advance is usually best. Newfields photography passes can book out quickly during peak months, so earlier is always helpful if you have a specific time of year in mind.
Q. Can we schedule a session on a weekend?
Unfortunately not. I photograph weddings most weekends, so these sessions are offered during the week.
The gardens at Newfields are undeniably beautiful.
But the real beauty in these photographs will always be the relationship the two of you share.
I’ll guide you through the gardens, help you feel comfortable in front of the camera, and create photographs that feel natural and meaningful.
