We are excited to share Courtney and Austin’s wedding day at The Conservatory at Evergreen, a delightful new venue in Indianapolis, Indiana. This greenhouse-style location, nestled by a serene pond and surrounded by woods, brings the beauty of nature indoors, creating an idyllic setting for such a special occasion.

Courtney and Austin’s love story began in the 5th grade, and they’ve been each other’s biggest supporters through every major life event—graduations, med school, new jobs, and a move to Chicago. (Oh and of course the adoption of their adorable puppy, Stanley!) Their wedding day was a true reflection of their deep bond and unwavering support for one another. Over the past year, we have cherished every moment of getting to know Courtney and Austin as we’ve worked together. (View some of my favorite photos from their Newfields engagement session here.)

Courtney’s passion for her education as she prepares to become a surgeon is truly inspiring. She and I instantly clicked over our shared love for organization, making planning calls so enjoyable! Austin’s hardworking nature and heart of gold make him a joy to be around; he has an incredible way of making everyone feel appreciated and ensures that everyone is well taken care of. We had to insist that he stop offering us food and drinks on his wedding day and go party… but that’s just who he is and we love him for it. Their giving spirits shine through in everything they do, and we feel profoundly grateful to have been their wedding photographers.

The Wedding Day

So when Courtney and Austin’s wedding day rolled around on a perfectly sunny day in May, we were thrilled! We spent the day capturing their wedding through film, digital and drone photography. We love blending all three of these techniques to tell the story of the day from beginning to end.

Preparing for the Day Ahead

The day started with Courtney getting ready in the charming cottage on the property, surrounded by her closest friends. The Glam Lab and Beauty and the Braid provided glam to all the gals and kept the energy so fun! Courtney looked absolutely stunning in her dress and long veil. Her trademark red hair looked more gorgeous than ever in the sparkling sunshine. Meanwhile, Austin prepared with his groomsmen, ushers, and the loving support of his mother and grandmother. Watching Austin interact with his mother, her radiant smile lighting up each moment, was one of our personal favorite parts of the entire day.

A Sentimental First Look Before the Ceremony

Before the ceremony, Courtney and Austin chose to share a private first look, a sweet and intimate moment made even more special with the arrival of their beloved puppy, Stanley. Thanks to Eric from Your Day Dog Chauffeur, Stanley’s presence was perfectly managed, making the photoshoot both fun and memorable. And of course we snuck in some Stanley snuggles too! (But honestly, who didn’t?)

The ceremony itself was a vision of soft colors and pretty pastels, with the incredible florals by Pomp and Bloom transforming the space into a floral wonderland. A stunning horseshoe altar served as the focal point for their vows. During the ceremony, Victoria with Marry Me Indy shared Courtney and Austin’s love story and had guests wiping away tears and laughing so hard they cried again. It was perfect! Guests then enjoyed a charming cocktail hour on the deck overlooking the pond, followed by a transition to an indoor reception that felt like stepping into a pastel garden party. A champagne wall greeted guests as a unique seating chart, and at the center of the room their cake made lovingly by Classic Cakes, surrounded by a cake meadow, was a showstopper.

So Much Love in One Room

Emotions ran high during the heartfelt speeches and dances. Austin’s dance with his mother and grandmothers was particularly moving, leaving not a dry eye in the house. In a touching gesture, Courtney skipped the traditional bouquet toss and instead presented her bouquet to her mother, Beth, a testament to their close bond and Courtney’s deep appreciation for her parents’ support.

Behind the Scenes

The seamless orchestration of the evening was thanks to the talented team at The Conservatory at Evergreen and the ever-dedicated Jenny Reber Events, an Indianapolis wedding planner and coordinator. Jenny made sure no detail was untouched and brought such a joyful spirit with her anywhere she went. We adore Jenny and can’t recommend her enough! We all enjoyed the most delicious dinner prepared by Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering.

Dance the Night Away

As the sun set, we captured some breathtaking photos of the couple, then headed back inside where Billy from Q It Up DJ ensured the dance floor was always lively. True to their thoughtful nature, Courtney and Austin arranged for Ben’s Soft Pretzels to serve as the perfect late-night snack and had Pomp and Bloom set up a flower wrapping station, allowing guests to take home a mini bouquet.

Courtney and Austin’s wedding at The Conservatory at Evergreen was a magical evening filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments. We were truly honored to be part of their special day! We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. We put our whole hearts into every wedding we photograph, we just can’t imagine doing it any other way. We adored our time with Courtney and Austin and every single one of their friends and family. My goodness, what a great group!
