Abby and Rogan are one of the sweetest couples we’ve had the honor of working with in our wedding photography career. Kind and quick to laugh, they are an easy couple to be around. Their Newfields engagement session was no exception. We strolled the stunning estate grounds, chatting and stopping for photos. It was the perfect evening and I am thrilled to share a little bit about these two with you!
Abby and Rogan
Abby and Rogan met while attending Indiana University. Tired from a long night at work, Abby didn’t expect to meet the love of her life while out with a friend. In fact, she almost didn’t go out that night at all. But something in her told her to go. And there, on the patio on that warm evening, was Rogan. An outgoing senior with a passion for music. That’s actually how Rogan got Abby’s number, with the promise of making her a playlist. He kept true to that promise and Abby still has the playlist to this day. They danced and sang the night away and a few days later they went on their first date.
As their relationship grew, Abby and Rogan went on a series of small dates before going on what they call their “first adult date” to Newfields for the popular Winter Lights Festival. They’d spent some time in front of the large fountain at the entrance to the museum. It became a beautiful memory for the two of them and a significant place for their love story. So when Rogan decided to propose to Abby, he knew that same fountain was the perfect place. As they walked around the fountain hand in hand, Rogan told Abby how excited he was to take his next steps in life with her. And there, in the front of the fountain, Rogan got down on one knee and proposed to Abby!
Naturally, we included the fountain in their engagement session! One our favorite ways to celebrate our couples is finding things that are special to them and including them in their engagement photos, so this was perfect! We had a great time with Abby and Rogan and cannot wait for their Ritz Charles wedding next year!
