There’s a song by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros called “Home” that occasionally weaves its way through my editing playlist. One of the lines in the song is “home is wherever I’m with you.” I don’t think I’ve met a couple that this describes more than Lauren and Jim.
About three years ago as Cheyenne was working at the horse track, she noticed James coming into the cafe to buy coffee more and more frequently. She couldn’t’t help but be a bit suspicious as the coffee wasn’t all that great. But James’ coffee purchases grew and so did their friendship. Before long they were inseparable and they haven’t slowed down yet! These two travel all over the country for James’ harness racing career and in fact, they packed up and headed to Florida the day after this very session!
As we walked through the halls of the animal shelter here in town, this pudgy grey kitten climbed the door of her cage and meowed at the top of her lungs as if to say “pick me, pick me!” How could we not? She has been our girl ever since.
A few weeks before Ashley and Trey’s wedding, I met up with Ashley and her sweet mom, Robin, for Ashley’s Alice in Wonderland inspired bridal session.
On Saturday I spent the day celebrating with Ashley and Trey at their wonderfully whimsical wedding. From the rose covered pergola where they said their vows to one another, to the tea party atmosphere of their reception, every little detail was full of fun, color and creativity. It was Alice in Wonderland meets Tim Burton. It was light meets dark. It was sweet meets spooky. It was the perfect.
