“You can give her my number and have her reach out to me if you have any questions!” Sammy exclaimed. It was our very first phone conversation and I had just shared that my younger cousin was going to school for occupational therapy, just like Sammy. She had only known me for a matter of minutes, much less my cousin, Kacie. But that is just who Sammy is. Kind, bubbly, sweet and so very full of love. And Alex? Every bit as kind and caring, but also warm and welcoming to everyone. They’re the kind of couple you just feel drawn to. I was fortunate enough to photograph Alex and Sammy’s gorgeous, whimsically windy wedding at New Journey Farms and I am just over the moon to share it with you!
Alex and Sammy’s Wedding at New Journey Farms
Alex and Sammy were destined to meet. Not only did they both attend Purdue University, but they also both attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church that is located on campus. And while they both volunteered on the very same committee at church, they hadn’t really been on one another’s radar. In fact, in old photos from their college days they each can be spotted in the background of photos taken at church events. But then one evening while celebrating a mutual friend’s 21st birthday, this joyful couple hit it off and haven’t stopped laughing together since.
And while on the topic of joy, Sammy and Alex selected the most joyful colors for their wedding day! Vibrant peachy pinks and soft blues were woven into every little detail. Sammy opted for sparkly Kate Spade Keds, perfect for dancing. (More on that later.) Alex was handsome in a classic black suit. They both looked incredible!

Alex and Sammy kept their celebration centered around what is most important to them, their faith.
When it came time to select a location to become husband and wife, the choice was easy. St. Thomas Aquinas had played such a big role in their college experience and in their relationship so it was a perfect fit in that way. But their faith continues to be a massive part of their lives. And this was evident in their wedding day. The church was filled in gorgeous light and fresh lilies left over from Easter services the Sunday prior. It was amazing!
Following a sweet moment surrounded by prayer and love, it was time for Alex and Sammy to walk down the aisle. Alex and Sammy’s nephews and niece were the cutest ring bearer, flower girl and sign holders. Friends of the couple sang and played music and one of Alex’s groomsmen even played violin as Sammy walked down the aisle. Their parents read scripture and guests beamed. It was easily one of the most sentimental ceremonies I have ever seen!

A Cheerful Reception at New Journey Farms
Following the ceremony, we all met up at New Journey Farms for Alex and Sammy’s reception! New Journey Farms is a modern, airy wedding venue. It’s a blank canvas that allows couples to design the day of their dreams. And Alex and Sammy did exactly that! Their carefully selected shades of blue and pink popped against the white walls and light poured in the beautiful floor to ceiling windows. A donut bar for guests and a push pin map to mark where they came from added some extra fun to the celebration.

Surrounded By Love and Joy
Alex and Sammy spend their wedding day surrounded by some of the greatest people in their lives! Their families and bridal party pitched in and helped bring some extra magic to the day. During all of my time with Alex and Sammy leading up to the wedding, (especially during their super fun engagement session) I have grown to genuinely adore them so seeing the people who they call friends was really special. They love Alex and Sammy so well and we had a blast working with them through out the day!

Dancing the Night Away
As the sun sank lower in the sky, the lights on the dance floor lit up! Sammy and Alex shared their first dance, followed by Alex sharing a dance with his mom. And then Sammy and her dad wowed guests with a super fun choreographed dance! It was excellent! After that, the dance floor was open and Sammy and Alex joined guests in the center of the dance floor, beaming ear to ear!

Congratulations Sammy and Alex! We are so happy for you and are so thankful that you allowed us to celebrate with you on your big day! We love you guys!
