If you are just starting your photography journey, you might be feeling a little bit overwhelmed. I remember how that felt and I would love to help you avoid that feeling! Maybe you just got a new DSLR for Christmas or maybe you don’t even have a camera yet! Well don’t worry, I’ve got you! I’m sharing my favorite gear for new photographers!

Cameras

I’ve been shooting with a Nikon camera for the last ten years, but before that I had a Cannon. So which one is better you ask? Truthfully, there is no real answer to this. It honestly comes down to personal preference. But if you aren’t able to get into a camera shop to browse in person, here are a couple of cameras that I feel are great for beginners:

Accessories

When I was first starting out as a wedding photographer, there was SO much I didn’t know. What kind of flash went with my camera? Which camera bag is better than the rest? It was a lot to process. Hopefully I can help you avoid that entire process and share some of the tools of the trade that I used when I was just getting started. These tools are wonderful options if you’re looking for gear for new photographers. And some of them – like the the flashes, reflector and Moneymaker strap, can still be found with me during a wedding to this day!
