We met for coffee two months before their wedding. We went over the details of their wedding day, created a timeline and shared in our excitement for their big day. When we left Starbucks that evening, we had no idea that in two weeks time, the world would come to a stand still due to COVID-19. But despite all of the unknowns we would all face, Justine and Evan kept positive attitudes and the focus on the love they share. These two are so inspiring! We loved getting to know them during their engagement session, so their wedding day was just the cherry on top.
Justine and Evan had to make the difficult decision to postpone their Indianapolis wedding for 2021, but they also decided that they didn’t want to wait to become husband and wife. So, they set forth to create a small, intimate wedding and we were lucky enough to photograph it! It was the perfect day, with clear skies and bright sunshine. Justine got ready along side her mom and sister, while her very best friends joined in the festivities through Zoom. Technology for the win! Even their pup, Otto, joined in the fun!
While their ceremony was small, it was absolutely beautiful! Justine’s sweet mom wore a Pittsburgh hat as she walked her daughter down the aisle, a nod to Justine’s dad. Evan grinned from ear to ear as he watched Justine climb the steps to the altar. Justine’s sister and Evan’s best friend stood up with them and a camera live streamed it all to countless friends in family watching from afar. Some even watched from their cars in the parking lot!
When Justine and Evan exited the church, an eruption of honks and joy greeted them. Some of their friends and family planned a parade to congratulate the happy couple, social distance style! It was absolutely magnificent! Justine and Evan greeted each person, some of which had created posters and some of which were total strangers who just stopped by to share the love. It was a beautiful reminder that even through COVID-19, love is not cancelled.
Zach and I cannot wait to celebrate with Justine and Evan (again) in 2021!
