Rachel and Noah’s Elegant Fort Wayne Wedding Day
Rachel and Noah’s beautiful fall Fort Wayne wedding day was one we will never forget! When their plans got turned upside down, they decided to move their celebration from Indianapolis to Rachel’s hometown, Fort Wayne, Indiana. And I am so glad they did! Their wedding was so perfect and I am beyond excited to be sharing it with you!
We began the day by meeting up with Rachel and her bridesmaids as they got ready for the afternoon celebration. I loved photographing Rachel’s beautiful dusty blue and pink wedding details. Could they be any more gorgeous?
Rachel and Noah’s wedding was held at Rachel’s father’s home, which I loved! It was so personal! Vibrant fall trees framed the adorable house, which made for the perfect location for a photo of Rachel’s incredible halter style dress, which fit her perfectly! As soon as I saw her dress I couldn’t help buy gasp because it was *so* her!
Noah looked dashing in a navy suit and easily one of the coolest ties I’ve seen at a wedding. Again, it was *so* Noah! Both Rachel and Noah did a great job of pulling in their personalities to their wedding day looks. I encourage all couples to follow in their foot steps!
Burying the Bourbon
Before heading out for their first look, Noah and his groomsmen shared a toast. Complete with bourbon that they dug up from the ground! Yes, you read that correctly. If you have not heard of “bury the bourbon” it’s actually pretty neat! This southern tradition is where the bride and groom visit their ceremony location one month before the big day. They bury a bottle of bourbon upside down and it is supposed to ward off rain on your wedding day. Well, it must have worked because we had clear skies for Rachel and Noah’s celebration. Cheers to that!
The First Look
Rachel and Noah opted to do a first look before their ceremony. Noah’s parents escorted him to the first look location where Rachel was waiting. According to Noah’s family, Noah has always written letters to those he loves most and his wedding day was no exception. As he made his way towards his beaming bride to be, a letter for Rachel could be found in Noah’s hands. How sweet is that?
If you are curious about first looks and are wondering if you should have one, I’ve got you covered! Many of our couples celebrate with first looks on their wedding day and we absolutely love it. You can read more about first looks here.
Rachel’s bridesmaids wore the most stunning burgundy one shoulder bridesmaid dresses. Along with Rachel, they carried bouquets of soft pink roses. Each bridesmaid also wore a silver cuff around their upper arm. I have never seen bridesmaids wear these and I was so for it!
Noah’s groomsmen matched Noah in handsome navy suits. One of my favorite things about the bridal party (there were a lot, this group was fun!) was that Noah selected his father to be his best man! It was really cool to get a glimpse into the special relationship they share!
Rachel and Noah’s ceremony was full of laughter and love, joy and meaning. Several guests and maybe a wedding photographer or two teared up when they exchanged their vows. As they shared their first kiss, everyone in attendance cheered!
Following their ceremony, Rachel and Noah snuck away for some time to soak in their newlywed status. After a few minutes alone it was time for sunset portraits!
I have loved working with Rachel and Noah as we counted down the days until their wedding together. So being able to watch them beam as they soaked in the golden rays on their wedding day made my heart so happy! They are such a kind and wonderful couple. They can make anyone laugh, have an amazing way of making anyone around them feel welcome instantly and are truly best friends. It’s couples like Rachel and Noah that remind me just how lucky I am to be a wedding photographer!
As an added bonus, we celebrated this lovely couple along side Julie Larame who captured everything on video for Rachel and Noah. We had so much fun partnering with her and her team for the day. If you are looking for a videographer in Fort Wayne, Julie is your girl!
Though Rachel and Noah’s reception was held in a tent, you would have never known it! The team at A Party Apart did a fantastic job transforming Rachel’s dad’s front yard into a custom wedding venue! Rachel and Noah opted for stunning pops of navy with silver for their reception decor. Sophisticated chandeliers and fairy lights hung from the ceiling, providing a romantic glow. The farmhouse head table was lined with eucalyptus and in the center was a sweetheart loveseat for the newlyweds to share. Dazzling marquee letters spelling out their last name was the cherry on top of this reception set up! Thanks to all of these darling details, Rachel and Noah’s fall Fort Wayne wedding truly came to life!
Rachel and Noah even remembered the sweet little ones in their family! They were sure to include the most incredible kids table I have ever seen! The children in attendance absolultey loved this special addition to the reception! But who it could blame them?? It was marvelous!
Rachel and Noah danced the night away with their closest friends and family. They enjoyed signature drinks of warm apple cider spiked with cinnamon whiskey and gin mojitos. They were showered with love from their bridal party during toasts, cut their beautiful wedding cake and shared their first dance as husband and wife. It was such a beautiful evening!
Congratulations Rachel and Noah! We positively adore you both and are so happy for you! Thank you a million times over for letting us celebrate with you!
