welcome to the AMP blog! I'm Ali, a wedding photographer based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. Here, I'll be sharing love stories, adventures with my amazing husband and a little bit about what life looks like when you follow your dreams!
Sydney and Michael are one of those couples that you can’t help but be drawn to. They are outgoing, driven and so very kind hearted. In fact, as I was getting to know these two in the months leading up to their wedding, I learned that they volunteer for Canine Companions for Independence by training dogs that will go on to help people with disabilities. (Click here to make a donation to this wonderful cause) They do this while also balancing thriving careers and navigating life together in Texas. They really are incredible people so being able to photograph their wedding and celebrate with them was a huge honor!
The morning started off with Sydney’s wonderful hair and makeup team (Shout out to Kate Shaw, Leslie White and their teams) helping Sydney and her awesome bridesmaids get ready. What a blast! The girls enjoyed wedding dress shaped sugar cookies and mimosas and looked adorable in their matching pajama sets that said “Champagne and Fries” – a funny nod to Sydney and Michael’s last name. (Even little Ridley the flower girl had one that said “Juice and Fries”.. too cute!) The girls had all worked together on a special book with letters and pictures and surprised Sydney with it before she put on her dress. And speaking of her dress. WOW! Sydney’s dress was actually specially made for her in France by way of De France Couture, a bridal boutique based in Texas. (You’ll want to check this amazing company out! Read about their mission here.) It was beautiful and Sydney looked absolutely radiant in it!
As soon as Michael stepped off the elevator he was all smiles, and stayed that way the entire day. But I’ve got to say, that smile got a LOT bigger when he unwrapped the gift Sydney had left for him in the grooms suite. Spoiler alert: it was not a light saber. Michael and his groomsmen were a total blast and had fun relaxing and making jokes while they waited for the trolley to take them to the church. Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral was the perfect place for the ceremony, which was elegant and stunning in every way. After the ceremony we headed to Monument Circle before making our way back to Regions Tower to get the party started!
Michael and Sydney’s party was one for the record books! From the beautiful lush florals and succulents that filled the room to the stunning wedding cake by Cakes by Donna, everything was just perfect. JPS Events is a wonderful venue and the team went out of their way to make sure everything was just right. If you’re looking for a great venue for your wedding, be sure to check them out! Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner before toasts were given and the special dances took place. Before long, the dance floor was full (HUGE shout out to Joe of PBJ Pro DJs– he is such a fabulous DJ!) and guests had a blast! Popular songs included “The Middle” and “Wagon Wheel.” As guests grew hungry from all of the incredible dancing, Sydney and Michael surprised their guests with a French fry bar – yum! The evening ended with Sydney and Michael sharing their last dance on the dance floor and kissing amidst sparklers on the deck outside with the Indianapolis skyline behind them. It was incredible!
Congratulations to Sydney + Michael! The AMP team is so thrilled for you both and wish you all the happiness in the world!
