There are few things that make my heart sing as much as a couple who truly makes their wedding day their own. Lucky for me, that’s exactly what Julie and Ben did and let me just tell you – my heart was singing all day! From the first time I met Julie and Ben I knew instantly that they were my kind of people. They’re so easy going, funny, and best of all? Ridiculously in love! Julie and Ben selected The Biltwell Event Center for their best day ever and their choice could not have been better. Not only was the Biltwell team incredible, but the space itself was just breathtaking! Tons of hidden gems from it’s previous life are tucked all over the venue and natural light pours in through the tons of windows that line the building. Talk about perfect!
Ben arrived early for his wedding day, looking dapper in a navy suit, Cthulhu tie and a giant smile across his face. You could tell that he was so thrilled to be marrying Julie just a few hours later. After spending some time relaxing with his family, we took some time to photograph Ben in all of his groom glory before tucking him away so he wouldn’t see Julie when she arrived! Julie had spent the morning at Rejuve Salon and Spa with her mom and sister before heading to the Biltwell to put on her dress! And this dress! It may have been one of my all time favorites! After the final button was buttoned, Julie’s dad came into the room and when he saw Julie for the first time, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room – myself included! Next we headed to the most incredible freight elevator in the heart of the Biltwell for Julie and Ben’s first look. And you guys… their first look was one of the sweetest I have ever seen!
Now, one thing you simply NEED to know about Julie is that she is an avid Colts fan. Julie and her awesome sister, Kacey, go to the games every chance they get so it was on the top of Julie’s list to incorporate Lucas Oil Stadium into the wedding photos somehow. And we did just that! Lucas Oil is as beautiful as it it massive and it provided the perfect location for photos with Julie’s family, bridal party and of course, some photos of just the bride and groom. After we were done with photos as Lucas Oil, we headed back to the Biltwell Event Center for the ceremony! There, the chairs were set up in a circle, with guests looking on from all around at Julie and Ben as they became husband and wife! After the ceremony Julie and Ben exchanged letters to one another and explored the beautiful Biltwell, taking time to stop and soak in the fact that they are married!
As the sun started to sink lower in the sky, it was time for Julie and Ben to celebrate with their guests during their reception. I mentioned earlier how Julie and Ben knocked it out of the park with making their wedding day unique to them. Instead of doing a traditional reception, they opted for a murder mystery show instead! How cool is that? Guests really got into it and everyone had a blast! I loved that it was a fabulous alternative reception idea and so very creative! But you know, that’s Julie and Ben, and I love it!
Congratulations, Julie and Ben! I had so much fun celebrating with you two and sharing in your joy on your wedding day! Ben, may you never stop looking at Julie the way you looked at her on your wedding day. And Julie, may you always beam with pride when someone mentions Ben’s name. You two were made for one another!
