Over the years I have photographed all kinds of weddings at various venues. But it turns out, for years there has been a hidden gem nestled into New Castle, Indiana! With landscaped paths, blooming flowers and a large covered shelter, The Art Association of Henry County’s Art Park is a beautiful place for wedding and was the perfect spot for Cheyenne and James to say “I do!” Cheyenne began her wedding day by getting her hair and makeup done at Detour Salon in Anderson, Indiana surrounded by her bridesmaids, her mom and her soon to be mother in law.
Cheyenne and James were surrounded by one of the best bridal parties I have worked with to date! But my personal favorite member of their bridal party? Their flower girl, Princess Minnie Pancakes – the mini horse! She was one of the girls all day and even rocked her own flower crown! While a mini horse might not be your first thought when you think of a flower girl, it made perfect sense for Cheyenne and James! Cheyenne, James and their family own James Yoder Racing – a harness racing team. They absolutely love their horses and horses are understandably a huge part of their lives! So including horses in various ways through out their wedding was a no brainer. (Even their wedding colors had nods to their team color: forest green!) As for Princess Minnie Pancakes – well, she spends her days running around with the race horses and has no idea that she isn’t one of them. She joined us for James and Cheyenne’s engagement session and I just fell in love with her! She is clearly so loved by Cheyenne and James, so she simply had to be their flower girl!
Maggie of Simply Pastierrie created the most amazing sweets to match the wedding theme! There were horse shoe shaped cookies, chocolate covered strawberries that looked like horses, delicious cupcakes and of course – a stunning wedding cake! Guests enjoyed a dinner prepared by Cheyenne’s aunt and uncle and as the reception wore on, the most beautiful glow flooded the dance floor from the sunset. Finally night fell and the stars came out. Guests danced under the twinkling lights that Cheyenne’s dad strung for the celebration as DJ Love Hertz kept the music coming! It was a great wedding!
Congratulations Cheyenne + James!
